Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This privacy policy specifically governs the JevBot by Legety Google Chrome extension (the “Extension”) and its companion cloud service at https://jevbot.legety.com operated by Legety, registered in Georgia (“we”, “us”, “our”). For general privacy practices regarding our main website and billing, please see our General Privacy Policy.

1. Single Purpose

The single purpose of the Extension is to assist users in automating browser interactions (such as clicking, typing, scrolling, and navigating) on web pages in response to user-provided natural language instructions.

2. Chrome Permissions and Data Collection

The Extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary to deliver its core functionality:

a. Active Tab & Page Content (`scripting`, `tabs`, `<all_urls>`)

What is collected: When you enter a goal and click “Run” or “Step”, the Extension captures a structured snapshot of visible, actionable elements (text, buttons, inputs, links) on the currently active browser tab, along with the current tab URL.
What is strictly excluded: Password fields, hidden inputs, file upload controls, cross-origin iframes, and canvas contents are deliberately ignored and never observed or transmitted.
How it is used: The structured snapshot and your typed goal are sent to the AI decision model (either via our hosted gateway at https://jevbot.legety.com or directly to OpenRouter if using BYOK mode) solely to determine the single next action (e.g. click button #4).
No background surveillance: Page content is inspected only while a user-initiated task is actively running. The Extension does not observe, log, or track your browsing activity when idle.

b. Voice Dictation (Microphone Access)

What is collected: When you explicitly activate the microphone button to dictate a task, audio is captured locally via the browser's standard media APIs.
How it is used: The audio snippet is sent directly to the speech-to-text model endpoint (OpenRouter Whisper or Jev Cloud gateway) for real-time transcription into text.
Retention: Audio recordings are never permanently stored on our servers. Recording stops immediately when you tap the orb/stop button or discard the recording.

c. Local Storage (`storage`)

What is collected: Your user configuration, such as chosen operation mode (Jev Cloud or BYOK), API keys, session pairing tokens, and local task history (last 25 runs: goal text and host domain).
Storage location: Stored strictly in your browser profile's local isolated storage (chrome.storage.local). It is never shared with third-party trackers.

3. Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy Compliance

In accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies and User Data FAQ:

No sale of user data: We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data or browsing content to any third party under any circumstances.
No unrelated use or transfer: User data is never used or transferred for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose (browser automation).
No creditworthiness assessment: User data is never used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
No advertising: User data is never used for targeted advertising, retargeting, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

4. Model Providers & Third-Party Services

To compute actions, the Extension communicates with LLM providers:

Jev Cloud (Default): Endpoints are routed through our gateway (https://jevbot.legety.com) which validates credentials and proxies calls to upstream inference models (OpenRouter). We log billing metrics (model name, token count, credits deducted, timestamp) but do not retain page content.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): The Extension makes direct HTTPS calls from your browser to OpenRouter using your private API key. No page content, goals, or keys ever pass through our servers.

5. Data Security

All communications between the Extension, our gateway, and inference providers are encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 / HTTPS. Credentials and API keys remain in your browser profile and are only transmitted to the configured endpoint.

6. User Control and Data Deletion

You retain full control over your data:

You can clear local past runs at any time with the “Clear” button in the Extension panel.
You can disconnect your account or remove your API key in the Extension Options page.
Uninstalling the Extension immediately deletes all locally stored data in Chrome.
